Abstract

Instructional
videos are used to demonstrate a technical process to teach how to do follow

some procedures or use some unfamiliar objects. This type of content is widely

used for teaching, tutorial video, training video, and lectures. We propose a

home training application on the wearable to utilize instruction videos in

creative ways. In home training, the user’s hands need to be free since they

are often preoccupied. We design and implement a prototype application to help

users train by wearing smartglasses and smartwatches. To increase the

efficiency and feasibility of the home training, we integrate a voice-based

user interface where applicable. Lastly, by deploying on several commercial

smartglasses such as Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 and Realwear HMT-1, and

WearOS smartwatches, we identify limitations and future work.
